What is this Colour-coding
In my line of work and experience I have recognized what colour can do for one's self esteem. Looking good - Feeling good! The concept of colour encourages women and men to wear colours that will make them look more attractive, healthier and even slimmer. Often we see beautiful clothes in the retail stores but when we buy them we don't look so good in them, and feel that we "wasted" our good money.
Wearing the correct colours you will help gain confidence when the compliments start to "roll-in" and remember confidence will help you carry yourself! Trust me this makes the all the difference!
I am a trained Annique consultant (besides having my Doctorate in Social Worker amongst other skills) I will offer something much more than any other cosmetic or image consultant can do. You will leave my centre, colour coded, "armed" with the right Annique colour make-up for your colour spectrum.
With my help to "colour code" you, you will save money (it's a promise), and you will not have a wardrobe full of clothes that don' make you feel great. Many women and men have wardrobes, full of clothes and nothing to wear. We all want that "something" that will bring "that feel good" feeling when we want to go out. (Colour-coding is not mixing and matching colours).
By being colour and co-ordinated you will also look younger, softer (your wrinkles will appear softer), and more vibrant and fresher. You will look harmonious and will definitely ooze confidence. You will be taken more seriously, because you are making a statement. Remember that non-verbal communication accounts for up to 65 % of all forms of communication.
Colour-coding is done by taking many aspects in to account and only a trained colour consultant will be able to this properly. That is why we received training and with my background I know we will have a great time discovering who you are and who you want to be. Colour-coding is grouped, contact me to find out more.

"Skirting the issue"
When it comes to looking good as we get a "little" older, it's a good idea to reassess your look , what worked for us at "25" won't necessarily suit us at "45".
Skirt lengths are a wonderful and classic example of this. A too short is a no-no, but too long can make you look old and dowdy. While a skirt that ends mid-calf visually chops your legs in half, making you look shorter and even "fatter".
The solution: aim for skirts that end either just above the knee (that is to say if you have fabulous knees), just off on the knee, this is the most flattering length.
This does not mean you have to bin all you skirts, be thrify and spare that special skirt for another day and use your tailor, who can help you with alterations at a fraction the price.
Remember, it doesn't mean now that it is winter, wearing skirts are out of the question... Wear your skirts with designer opaques that have a range of colours, which is available in the stores right now! Come on I challenge you "wow" them at home with a new look for WINTER 2010.
Never over-buy on high fashion items, but rather buy a few items that say "WINTER 2010" I am "in" the fashion.
Here are a couple of basic ideas:
- Chunky knits in the form of jerseys, coats and dresses will be great.
- Boots are highly fashionable and styles range from riding boots, bikers, and sheriff style boots with ankle boots dominating the scene.
- Metallic embellishments are everywhere. Be dramatic and have some fun!
- Scarves, pashminas and knitted hats have an important role to play this winter. They will not only keep us warm, but will also allow you to look chic!
Your image is how you wear the items, not about how many items you can wear at once!
SEVEN GOLDEN RULES OF STYLE
Style is not necessarily something you born with. You can learn it.
Here are the 7 rules as derived from Elle Magazine:
Rule 1:
Develop a good relationship with your wardrobe:
Loving your clothes is a great start. All girls who have style say this: "Feeling good about your clothes, like feeling good about yourself, is the secret to style.'
It is my opinion and a well researched fact (from the ladies I have worked with), you cannot love your clothes unless they fit you properly, they suit your lifestyle and the colours compliment your skin tone.
Rule 2:
Break the mould
Here the idea is to confuse the issue, to break the mould. This means adding one or two fanciful items to your outfit that go against the grain.
Not more than one or two, otherwise you overstep the mark! For example wear jeans with jewelled sandals, or a girly blouse with a pencil skirt.
Rule 3:
Love Fashion
Think Fun!!!!
What is there not to love about experimenting with colours, styles and trends? I challenge you, try it.
If you too scared, send me a SOS. I'll come and help.
Rule 4:
Play with trends
A girl with style doesn't necessarily follow fashion, she simply updates her style.
If you know what colours suit your skin tone and what your dress personality, as well as what your lifestyle is, this will be as easy as 1, 2, and 3.
Rule 5:
Don't be a slave to good taste
Style is a question of freedom. You need to free yourself from those old rules: red clashes with pink, and black doesn't go with brown. They don't if you wear them with style.
Don't limit yourself. Be Daring. Wear a hat, play around with colour. The only limitation is the ridiculous. So do watch out for the clown effect if you go over the top!
Rule 6:
Know when to say no!
Being stylish means saying no to trends that are not for you, to inappropriate lengths, to colours that don't suit you and not holding back on accentuating you best assets, such as legs, height, and ample cleavage.
Think about it some of the stylish women are over 40!
Rule 7:
Don't abuse labels
Too many labels kill the label.
The trick is to play labels down by teaming with a low profile look.
Some winning combinations: a biker jacket with a Chanel bag slung over your shoulder or jeans, a tank top, and wedges with a hot label like Louis Vitton.
Come on test yourself to these 7 rules of style and see hoe well you fare!

- Choose styles that suit your shape and stay away from trend items.

- Don't be shy to wear a body shaper under a dress or skirt.
- Dress your age.
- Be careful of gorgeous high heels. If they are uncomfortable in the store, they will be uncomfortable at home.
In your 40s
- It's time to refine and define your style.
- Get ruthless! Play with colour.
- The older you get, the more likely you are to clutter your wardrobe with items bought years ago. Many women think that if their wardrobe is full, they don't have to buy more.
- The reality: Most of those clothes shouldn't be there in the first place!
- Get rid of the things you don't wear.
- You deserve to look your best always. Your new stylish self will feel a whole lot better.
In your 50s
- Your still young enough to have fun, but should choose what highlights your best features.
- Accept your body shape and wear what suits you,
- Be comfortable with yourself.
- Learn to accentuate your best features and hide your flaws.
- Dress to conceal the "middle-age spread". Wear a body shaper!!!
- Tight clothes, gaudy colours, or clothes that don't fit properly will attract the attention to those places that can least afford it.
- Tone down your make-up. Too much enhances your wrinkles.
In your 60s
- Invest in well-tailored clothes and choose the best quality you can afford.
- Make the best of you are.
- Don't wear mom jeans or hipsters. Invest in well-cut, high-waisted ones that don't look outdated.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS TO KEEP YOUR WARDROBE CO-ORDINATED SO THAT IT IS SIMPLE TO FIND SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO WEAR EVERYDAY WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT MAKING FASHION MISTAKES!
